Quiet, scenic and full of distinctive guesthouses; ideal for slow travel, but less convenient without a car.

Getting around
The center is compact. E-bikes are often around RMB 30/day and taxis work well, though demand rises at peak times. Choose a private car for Sanbao, Yaoli and multi-stop days.

Reservations
The Imperial Kiln Museum and China Ceramics Museum are generally free, but timed reservations can sell out on holidays. Book through official channels in advance.

Buying ceramics
Compare before buying. Sculpture Porcelain Factory and Taoyang New Village often offer better value; Taoxichuan is curated but usually pricier. Ask before bargaining.

Finding discarded pieces
Only collect fragments or seconds where the owner expressly permits it. Do not enter production areas or remove property; wear gloves, watch for sharp edges and follow site rules.
